Learning Maths with Linux

Linux come with a virtue of different software about Mathematics. Computers are very good on Math because after all. To some people computers are like super-calculators on steroids ;-)

With Linux you can get very good Math software, here is some that you can use:

  • rkward - If you have ever used the R language is a statistical languages. If you are a teacher teaching a statistical course on high school or college this tool will let your student really learn about complex graph. Watch Demo Video
    Rkward

  • KAlgebra - is a mathematical calculator that will let your students create graphically appealing graphs in 3D for complex calculations in calculous.
    Kalgebra
  • Kig - is a program for for exploring geometric construction. But wait, this is more than meets the eye actually you can even automate the geometric formulation. This is a very useful skill for engineering and of course programming.

  • K3DSurf - Math's have never been as cool as with this program. Have 3D graph representations of your Mathematic formulas. This will just capture your student imagination. Watch Demo Video.

  • OpenOffice.org Math - MATH is OpenOffice.org's component for mathematical equations. It is most commonly used as an equation editor for text documents, but it can also be used with other types of documents or stand-alone. Watch Video Demo.

If you are a teacher and you need to teach calculus, geometry or statistic. This three software are in the kde education repository.
